YOUR RIDE. YOUR RULES. YOUR BIKE.
THE EVERYDAY BREAKAWAY BIKE
The Soloist. It’s a name from deep in our history, but immediately familiar to anyone with bike racing memories extending back to the early-2000s. It was the weapon of choice for top World Tour contenders on CSC and the Cervelo Test Team, and we’re bringing it back for a new generation. The new Soloist is designed for the week-in, week-out rider and racer who can only justify one high-performance bike. It balances light weight and aerodynamic advantages to deliver a bike that really is 'just right'. Soloist comes in a hair lighter than S5, but significantly more aerodynamic than R5, and borrows the threaded bottom bracket standard you find on the R5-CX. It’s a race bike that can accommodate mechanical and electronic shifting, can hammer out the training miles in all weather, and yet still has the chops to leap off the front at that decisive moment. That’s the Soloist.
8.6 Watts Faster
A deeper head tube, deeper fork legs, and a BB junction that shields the rear wheel all makes for 8.6 watts of drag savings over the outgoing Soloist. With an additional 4.3 watts on offer when you use the aero bottles (more on that later).

267 Grams Lighter As A System
The frame’s surface area increased by almost 3%, while the fork’s surface area increased by over 8%. But despite these increases, we were able to save weight both on the frame and fork relative to the outgoing Soloist, making a lighter bike that’s much faster. At 6.85kg out of the box, you’re bang on the UCI weight limit.

Aero Bottles Save ANOTHER 4.3 Watts
Water bottles are round, which is not a shape that air likes to pass by smoothly. So for the Soloist, we set out to get some of that drag back, in the form of an aero bottle. We gave the engineering team a couple non-negotiables—the bottles had to stand up on their own, so you can fill them easily, and add drink mix without juggling, and the cage had to take a round bottle so you can grab one from an aid station, neutral service, or your buddy on the side of the road. Round bottles add 6.3 Watts of drag to the bike, the Soloist aero bottles add 2.

One Piece Bar/Stem
The new Soloist features an advanced, one-piece bar/stem combination that makes both bike and rider faster. As part of our development of the new bikes, we made a number of additional stem length/bar width combinations to make sure all riders can get as close to their ideal fit as possible. Any rider that purchases a new Soloist will be able to request an additional bar/stem in a different size at no extra charge
